Hello! My name is Nell Wayman and I’m a 4th year Music student at Newcastle University. After spending the previous year of my studies at UMBC in Baltimore, I've learnt the value of collaborative approaches within music, which has inspired this project. As this project is for my university degree, I’ll be writing these blog posts and managing the website to document our collaborative and creative processes. I’ll also be tackling the sound within our short film, producing a binaural mix to complement Josh’s visuals, through combining spoken word interviews, field recordings, synth lines and a few hip-hop beats to create the soundtrack. Hi, my name is Josh Bennett. I’m an Interaction Design student at Northumbria University, but I’m currently working from home for my placement year. I specialise in web and service design, and I am also passionate about video editing and branding. I’m a long-time friend of Nell and we’ve previously worked together on small projects; I’m excited to keep pushing my abilities and to help Nell to deliver a powerful result. We’re going to be reaching out to friends to illustrate the spectrum of emotions & experiences during the past year. I can’t wait to visualise Nell’s composition to tell an engaging story.
